RS Design & Technology Services
RS Design and Technology based in Southampton, Hampshire, supply the key services to School and Colleges for the management, installation or reconfiguration of Design & Technology Departments.
- We ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- We inspect, maintain and repair equipment within Design & Technology departments to meet all statutory requirements on an ongoing basis
Our skills in Electrical & Mechanical engineering are well established as is our understanding of BS4163 :2014 and Building Bulletin 81 which allows us to give advice and guidance to assist in Design and Installation requirements. RS Design and Technology are members of the British Safety Council and the Design & Technology Association.
We Provide
Servicing
We carry out annual Service and Inspection visits to Schools and Colleges where;
- All machinery is serviced and inspected and reports provided for each piece of machinery in use within the department.
- All machinery checked
- Adjustments carried out where needed
- All adjusted machinery is re-tested and reported on.
Reporting
A comprehensive and detailed report on every machines current condition and if identified any
faults or non compliance issues that require attention to bring the machine up to current standards.
Report on any Health and safety issues relative to the machine or the workshop area.

Electrical Installations
RS Design & Technology has teams of qualified engineers to install machines or to design and install electrical supplies and safety equipment. Our teams are highly experienced, rarely do we install or configure within the Design and Technology Department environment a configuration or electrical requirement that we have no previous experience of.
Mechanical Installations
Again our teams of highly experienced and qualified engineers install machines including extraction and ducting. We have equipped Designed and Technology Departments from the small to vast and as with electrical installations, we rarely come across machines that we have no previous experience of.
